Psychotherapy at the main train station
_______________
Frequency of therapy
- The usual frequency for psychotherapy is once a week, although the exact frequency depends on individual circumstances, the nature of the problem, and the therapy goals. A higher frequency (two to three times per week) is advisable in acute crises or intensive treatments, while the frequency is often reduced towards the end of therapy.
- A single session lasts 50 minutes. A double session (90 minutes) is also possible upon request.
- Typical frequency - Weekly: One session per week is a good starting point for many people, as this allows for regular progress.
- Individually adjustable: The frequency is discussed individually with the therapist and can be adjusted as needed.
- What can influence the frequency:
Crises or intensive phases: In acute crises or when treatment is particularly urgent, two or more sessions per week may be advisable.
- End of therapy: Towards the end of therapy, the frequency is often reduced.
- Couples therapy lasts 90 minutes and initially takes place once or twice a week.
